first_imgA Donegal priest has shown his appreciation for the classic TV show Father Ted on the twentieth anniversary of the comedy hitting Irish screens. Fr. Brian Ó Fearraigh posted the above picture on his Facebook timeline and the hilarious snap has gone viral online.Fr. Ó Fearraigh produced the sign at a wedding mass a few months ago.The sign was a prop for an ice-bucket challenge he had done the previous day and decided to use the card in his homily for the wedding mass.Ó Fearraigh posted the snap this week to show his appreciation for Father Ted, which celebrates its anniversary this week.He uploaded the image with the following caption along with it.“For the day and anniversary that’s in it! Ah go on, go on…‪#‎TedAtTwenty‬ ‪#‎Epic‬Father Ted is one of the most popular comedies ever created and the success of the show has endured over the years.Seen as highly controversial at the time of its release in 1995, the show was criticised by some sections of the church’s hierarchy. However, as Father Brian Ó Fearraigh has shown even though the show cheekily pokes fun at priests, it’s all harmless and proves that Father Ted is still very much loved even after all these years.Careful now. 🙂 DONEGAL PRIEST SHOWS HIS APPRECIATION ON ANNIVERSARY OF CLASSIC TV SHOW FATHER TED was last modified: April 22nd, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegal town country weekend picturesFather TedFR Brian Ó FearraighFunnynewspictureSNAPTwentieth AnniversaryVirallast_img read more
