22 May 2014Cricket South Africa’s (CSA’s) National Academy is hosting the country’s leading women’s cricketers at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria for the first time. The move to develop the women’s game is set to become an annual affair. The Academy for South Africa’s most promising women cricketers started this week and will run through until 28 August. It will help prepare them for forthcoming tours of England and Sri Lanka.CSA General Manager of Cricket Corrie van Zyl on Tuesday expressed his delight to see a fresh group of players coming into the Academy and said he is looking forward to seeing their progress as the months go by.Focus of the CSA National Academy“The focus of the CSA National Academy is on the identified young emerging talent in our country and giving them all the tools needed to be successful at franchise and International level,” Van Zyl said in a statement.“The support structures within the CSA pipeline is of such a nature that we will now not just be able to support, develop and mould young talent at the National Academy, but also monitor and measure their growth and development while they are applying their trade at provincial and franchise level.“This support will come in the form of the CSA appointed scouts, namely Shukri Conrad, Victor Mpitsang and Ray Jennings. These scouts will also be able to call on the High Performance consultants to assist in the intervention of identified individuals.”‘Extremely proud’Focusing on women’s cricket specifically, Van Zyl added: “The National Women’s Academy will be based on the same principles and we are extremely proud to have our first ever intake of women’s cricket players at this year’s Academy.“Part of the strategic focus of the CSA pipeline is to make the Momentum Proteas women’s team one of the top four teams in world cricket.“It is with this goal in mind that these women will be coached, developed and exposed to the National Academy in order to equip them to realise their goals as a team under the guidance of the National women’s head coach Hilton Moreeng, and assisted by the High Performance consultants.“We have promised and have as a goal, to uplift the profile of women’s cricket in our country and this is yet another way of achieving that goal,” he concluded.PleasedMoreeng expressed his pleasure with the inclusion of the country’s leading women’s cricketers at the National Academy.“It is great to be part of this historical move for women’s cricket in South Africa,” he said.“This is a huge opportunity for the ladies to experience what the Academy is about and I look forward to the learning experience for us all. Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest Three 110 – 130 hp Tier 4 Final models offer new levels of technology, comfort and performance ideal for loader work and general useMassey Ferguson, a global brand of AGCO Corporation, recently introduced the 5700SL Series mid-range tractors. These tractors build upon the Massey Ferguson 5600 Series reputation for versatility and reliability. Each of the three new models is equipped to work in compact spaces and offers the power, maneuverability, comfort and performance needed for efficient loader work, hay production and general on-the-farm use.“We are proud to introduce these tractors to the North American market,” says Shaun Allred, tactical marketing manager, Mid-Range and High Horsepower tractors. “Livestock producers will especially appreciate these tractors, and after operating one, they’ll understand why the MF5713SL model was named Tractor of the Year 2016 in the Best of Utility Category at Agritechnica this fall.”Technology and options raise the bar for operator efficiency and convenienceThe new Series will include three models ranging from 110 to 130 engine horsepower. All are available in Classic and Deluxe Editions with cabs. Producers seeking to raise the bar on operational efficiency and convenience will want to check out Deluxe Edition options. The new SpeedSteer option lets the operator adjust the steering ratio for more or fewer turns of the steering wheel, making loader and headland turns faster and easier. Rear-mounted PTO engagement means fewer trips in and out of the cab to connect and operate the PTO, plus convenient, push-button access to quickly stop it.In addition, Deluxe Editions offer the optional factory-installed Auto-Guide 3000 automated-steering system to reduce wasteful overlap and save time during field operations. With an easy, intuitive user interface, Auto-Guide 3000 automated steering is a great solution for first-time users and will help reduce fatigue during long days working in the field.Superior visibilityBecause 5700SL Series cabs use a six-post design and a narrow cross section, these tractors provide unmatched forward visibility. The 5700SL Series also offers above-cab visibility with an optional Visio Roof, particularly popular among loader operators who need more visibility for accurately and efficiently stacking bales.High-flow hydraulics for responsive loader actionAn open-center hydraulic system with a standard flow rate of 11 gallons per minute (gpm) to the rear three-point linkage and 15 gpm to remote valves provides fast, responsive hydraulic function and helps every job go faster. An optional Twin Flow system combines the flow from both pumps, providing 26 gpm to remote hydraulic circuits for even faster cycle times and an even quicker job.Spacious cab, new dash display improves setup and operationThe 5700SL Series has a large and comfortable cab identical in size to the Massey Ferguson 7700 Series. The dash in the 5700SL Series features an easy-to-read digital display plus a new Setup and Information Screen (SIS). The easy-to-navigate, colored SIS screen is 50 percent larger with 10-times greater resolution than the Dash Control Center on previous models. SIS provides simple, push-button set up and adjustment of tractor functions. This improved approach allows operators to quickly evaluate tractor operating data and easily adjust transmission operation, slip control, hydraulic valve flow, simple headland management and front loader control to increase machine and operator performance.Maintenance-free Tier 4 Final simplicityPowered by a 4.4L four-cylinder AGCO POWER diesel engine, the 5700SL Series meets Tier 4 Final compliance using a unique, ‘All in One’ unit which incorporates the SCR system and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). This simple, maintenance-free emissions system avoids Exhaust Gas Recirculation, a costly Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and time needed for filter regeneration. Compact and located under the right-hand side of the cab, this emissions solution helps achieve the tractors’ slim, steep hood design that allows excellent visibility and maneuverability. The engine features AGCO technology such as the SisuTronic EEM4 electronic engine management system that monitors and manages engine operation, delivering outstanding performance with low fuel consumption. High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel injection improves fuel combustion to minimize emissions, and the electronic wastegate turbocharger anticipates power needs, providing unbeatable engine response and high torque at all RPMs.Hallmark 5600 Series features remain A number of operator-preferred features will be retained in the 5700SL Series. Topping that list is the rugged and reliable Dyna-4 transmission with 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds for versatile, smooth shifting. Options such as mechanical cab suspension and front axle suspension are a few of the comfort and efficiency-enhancing choices that will be available on the 5700SL series tractors. For more information about these new Massey Ferguson 5700SL tractors, contact your local Massey Ferguson dealer, visit masseyferguson.us/products/tractors/ or view this short video about the award-winning MF 5713SL tractor.

When the Allahabad High Court dismissed Mrs Gandhi’s election and growing unrest on the streets demanded her resignation, Barooah stood up to smile and say: “Indira tere subah ki jai, teri shaam ki jai, tere kaam ki jai, tere naam ki jai.” This roly-poly Congress president soon caught the party’s imagination with his literary fervour and elevated himself to a master spokesman, defending the Emergency in a passionate, if somewhat convoluted fashion: “The Emergency has not only cut to size the forces of right reaction and left adventurism, but it has galvanised the masses for establishment of popular democracy…”With “Indira is India…”, the man not only provided a vulnerable prime minister with an everlasting branding solution but in the process, also spelt out the unofficial mantra of survival in Indian politics, better called sycophancy. After Mrs Gandhi lost the 1977 elections, however, the man kept his distance from her.Raj NarainIn today’s 24×7 times, none could have been a more footage-grabbing politician than this unpredictable, anti-Right, anti-Left, bandana-sporting socialist. In those days of almost unipolar politics, this poster boy of the Opposition challenged prime minister Indira Gandhi’s election. The iron lady trembled and imposed the infamous Emergency. The man turned to legend by defeating her in her home turf in the 1977 elections. From a berth in the Opposition to a Cabinet berth in the Janata Party, he was soon the Opposition within the party. Once a wrestler and then an opportunist with Charan Singh, they staked their claim to power by pleading to his arch rival for outside support. That naive coalition, too, failed when Mrs Gandhi withdrew support and in less than a year the party was over. Such were the early experiments of coalition politics. With a Vivekananda-ish sense of mission to electrify Indian youth and a Stalin’s muscle, he was the face of Indian entrepreneurship with his Maruti dream, which came at a time when his mother was fast pushing the socialist envelope. His five-point programme that included controlling the nation’s birth rate through sterilisation camps or transforming Delhi into Paris gripped the urban middle class with shock and awe. As the press bent, crawled or shut its trap, the minister smiled. Instrumental in destroying the film negatives of a political satire Kissa Kursi Ka and instituting a ban on Kishore Kumar songs for ‘lack of cooperation’, he promoted himself to a desi Goebbels. In the national elections of 1984, when the Congress swept the nation with a sympathy wave, it found little comfort in the superstar’s territory. Diminishing the difference between a fanbase and a votebase, Telugu Desam had then elevated itself to the main Opposition party in Parliament. MONTEGO BAY – Prime Minister the Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller, has highlighted a need for regional financial institutions to adjust their policies and programmes to address the specific requirements of the local population. The Prime Minister was addressing the 39th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Caribbean Association of Banks Inc. at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, St. James, on November 15. Mrs. Simpson Miller acknowledged that there were certain non-negotiables related to the fiduciary responsibilities of the financial institutions, noting that increasingly, the regulatory requirements would apply internationally when for example, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), passed into law in the United States (US) in 2010, comes into effect in January next year. She stated however, that “if our indigenous institutions are deserving of special emphasis and attention, there is a greater need for them to recalibrate their policies and programmes to address the specific need of our population”. The Prime Minister pointed to the fact that a significant percentage of the working population throughout the region lies outside the formal tax system. In Jamaica, this percentage is estimated to be in excess of a third. She said that even as the government strives to bring such persons ‘into the fold’, there was a need for the indigenous financial institutions to design programmes which would incorporate such workers and business people into the formal economy. “To do this will demand innovative, and if I may say so, non-traditional methods. However, we simply cannot pretend that we are North America and Europe. To be relevant, we need to design programmes which will maximize the involvement of the vast majority of our people into the formal activities of our countries,” Mrs. Simpson Miller said. Mrs. Simpson Miller further pointed out that the passage of Hurricane Sandy has once again brought home the absolute need for some form of national insurance “to address the need for resources for the reconstruction efforts”. “The simple fact is that whilst in the USA, perhaps 90 per cent of persons who suffer losses following a natural disaster, have some formal insurance, in our case the tragic fact is that the majority of persons who have suffered damage, have no such insurance,” she said. She called on the indigenous financial institutions to “apply their minds at both the regional and national levels to the development of insurance schemes which can assist those of your clients who presently have no such formal link with the existing financial institutions”. She pledged the government’s willingness to collaborate with private sector institutions in exploring the possibilities of setting up such a scheme.

EA At the EA Play publisher’s press event for the E3 2019 gaming confab, Anthem developer Bioware said it’s trying to learn what players want and improve the game’s next update. Lead producer Ben Irving said Anthem’s future is “very bright.” “We believe Anthem can be a very amazing game. We know we have some work today,” Irving said Saturday, though Anthem, published by EA, was originally missing from the E3 schedule. EA introduced new maps for Battlefield V, a new character for Apex Legends, a 15-minute gameplay demo reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, FIFA 20’s Volta Mode and more. Anthem, an online role-playing game for multiple participants, was announced at E3 2017 and launched by EA in February. Gamers play as Freelancers, who wear Iron Man-style exosuits and protect an unnamed planet. The Anthem of Creation is a mysterious force that creates powerful technology, wonders and threats. In the game’s main narrative, Freelancers must stop the evil Monitor from taking over Anthem. After the game’s release, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said the company expected Anthem to sell 5 million to 6 million units by the end of March. That time frame gave Anthem only about a month and a half to achieve the numbers. The game beat out new releases like Jump Force, Far Cry New Dawn and Metro Exodus and became BioWare’s best selling title of the month for its first month. Amid the incoming reviews, the developers were combating bugs in the game. In early March, Anthem got a massive update that fixed problems with the loot quality, gameplay, bugs and more. The game’s developers were fixing bugs and crashes almost immediately after the February launch, though. When bugs weren’t crashing the game, they were making starter weapons ridiculously powerful. In April, Sony started issuing refunds to Anthem PS4 players who reported a bug that caused the console to improperly shut down. The game failed to meet EA’s expectations by May, even though the company said more money would come from microtransactions. EA didn’t say how many units Anthem had sold at the time, but the company said it remains “committed” to supporting the game’s ongoing live service. You can stream the conference online from a variety of platforms if you don’t plan on attending. The big press conferencesMany of the biggest announcements happen before the show even opens, during a weekend of press conferences from the industry’s biggest names. All except Sony, which this year said it won’t be holding a press conference during the show, nor will it have a booth. The rest, however, will still be planning big announcements just before the show. Saturday, June 8Electronic Arts — The game maker showed off 15 minutes of gameplay for its upcoming adventure game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It also announced new features for its free-to-download Apex Legends last-man-standing battle royale game, offering a new character and weapon to play with. The company also showed off a new paid update for The Sims 4, called Island Living, that brings the series to a tropical beach. Finally, the company did discuss drama over the mixed reviews for its Anthem action adventure game, saying it “learned a lot” and had more updates and features planned soon.Sunday, June 9Microsoft / Xbox — The gaming giant’s biggest news was Project Scarlett, its next-generation Xbox, coming in 2020. The new device is up to 4x more powerful, the company said, and like the next-gen PlayStation it’ll include a fast non-mechanical SSD hard drive, and it’ll be powered by custom innards built with the help of chipmaker AMD. The company also announced that Halo Infinite will launch alongside Project Scarlett next year. Meantime, Microsoft is starting public tests of its Project xCloud streaming service in October, promising people the ability to play high end games on their mobile devices while away from home. While fans wait, Microsoft announced an update to its Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 as well as a slew of new games. And action star Keanu Reeves, fresh off the success of John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum, was on stage to announce his involvement with Cyberpunk 2077, which is coming next year.Bethesda — Bethesda kicked off its event with humility over the mixed response to Fallout 76, but quickly went back on the offensive. Fallout 76 got a new Battle Royale mode, Wolfenstein Youngblood received a new trailer and a co-op mode. We got a new game called Deathloop from the clever folks behind Dishonored and Bethesda introduced us to Orion, a piece of tech from ID Software designed to make game streaming better on services like Google Stadia. Mobileye confirmed the partnership, along with a similar partnership with China’s NIO on Thursday.Specifically, Mobileye’s EyeQ4 system-on-a-chip will be employed by both Nissan and NIO to do some of the computational heavy lifting on the complicated task of safely allowing hands-off, navigated highway driving. Nissan’s version gets a further boost, thanks to Mobileye’s RoadBook system.RoadBook is unique in that it uses aggregated data from vehicles around the world and across a range of manufacturers (so long as they’re equipped with an EyeQ4 system, which Mobileye estimates will be around 20 million vehicles in the next few years) to create high-definition maps for use in self-driving. If your teenage kid loves to spend night time with gadgets, ask him or her to reduce this habit as this may make him fat in just five years’ time.According to research, teenagers and adults who go to bed late on weeknights are more likely to gain weight than their peers who hit the hay earlier.“The results highlight adolescent bed times, not just total sleep time, as a potential target for weight management during the transition to adulthood,” said Lauren Asarnow, lead author and doctoral student in University of California-Berkeley. Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’For this, the researchers analysed data from a nationally representative cohort of more than 3,300 youths and adults. They found that for every hour of sleep they lost, they gained 2.1 points on the body mass index (BMI). This gain occurred roughly over a five-year period. The results show that many teenagers do not get the recommended nine hours sleep a night and report having trouble staying awake at school. The human circadian rhythm, which regulates physiological and metabolic functions, typically shifts to a later sleep cycle at the onset of puberty. The results suggest that adolescents who go to bed earlier will “set their weight on a healthier course as they emerge into adulthood”, Asarnow added. The paper appeared in the journal Sleep.

Our website and all of our materials are in English only and as such, we are focused on selling and marketing proactively in the US, UK and other Canadian provinces for now. We don’t have any idea at this stage when or if this will change. Travel Advisors who work for agencies located outside of Quebec can register to do business with us at FirstMates.com.”More news: Canada raises travel warning amid escalating protests in Hong KongVirgin Voyages hasn’t closed all the doors on possible business with Quebec in the future, saying that the deactivation of the accounts was a necessary step until a solution can be found.Last June, Stacy Shaw, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Virgin Voyages, had this to say: “At the moment, we are focusing on collaboration with partners. We just opened our doors in February, so of course we still have a lot of work to do to launch the activity in our main markets, which of course include Canada and Quebec. We obviously view Canada and Quebec as extremely important markets for us, but we currently have no opportunity to sell or market our products in languages other than English at this stage of our business. So, for the moment, we can be more efficient in trying to stimulate business in other Canadian provinces, but we are certainly looking for growth opportunities in Quebec in the future,” said Shaw.More news: Beep, beep!
